　　Karl Friedrich Benz (November 25, 1844 – April 4, 1929) was a German engine designer and engineer, who designed and built world's first automobile powered by an internal combustion engine.

　　卡尔·弗里德利希·奔驰（1844年11月25日-1929年4月4日），德国发动机设计者和工程师。他设计并制造了世界上第一辆内燃机发动的汽车。

　　Financed by Bertha Benz, his wife and business partner, Karl patented the first  three-wheeler Motorwagen in January 1886，and the first four-wheeled car in 1893.

　　在波塔·奔驰—他的妻子兼合伙人—的资助下，奔驰在1886年和1893年分别取得了奔驰一号（第一辆三轮车）和第一辆四轮汽车的专利权。

　　The name Mercedes Benz, the brand as we know it today, first appeared in 1926, following the merger of Karl Benz's and Gottlieb Daimler's companies.

　　1926年，卡尔·奔驰和戈特利布·戴姆勒的汽车公司合并之后，首次出现了我们现在所熟悉的“梅赛德斯·奔驰”这一著名品牌。
